When your system suddenly develops a
hardware or software error.........
Develop a Trouble Shooting Strategy, there are several steps
that you can go through to diagnose and solve the problem.
MICROSOFT recommends going through the
following checklist to find information about the problem:
- Make sure you have the Emergency Repair Disk (ERD), backup copies of
the data, and Disk Configuration backup.
- Check to see if the computer works with a different operating system.
- Reinstall the software to see if it solves the problem.
- Make sure each device has its own IRQ and DMA settings.
- Check third party services, such as virus scanners, that may be
interfere.
- Check for terminate-and-stay-resident programs (TSR's) in the Task
List, such as programs that are loaded at start up or registry.
- Search for errors in the Event Log, and note the text of the event
messages.
- Remove unnecessary cards and drivers.

the amount of RAM in your computer, and the paging file. Paging files
are hidden files that the computer uses to simulate RAM by temporarily
